The event will benefit a local non-profit organization called TrICA (Treasure Valley Institute for Children's Art). TrICA will host a literal "cupcake camp" for kids on August 14th, teaching them how to bake and decorate cupcakes (as well as kitchen basics and safety) as part of their culinary arts program.
On August 15th, Boise will celebrate its first "CupCakeCollective" - cupcakes from the childrens' class the day before will be offered, cupcakes entered to win prizes, and local biz cupcakes (businesses can sumbit cupcakes with their logos on them, for a $50 fee, all benefiting TrICA)
